January 31 | Meet at the Outpost
Guided Hike to the Overlook
11 a.m.
Enjoy your day with an invigorating hike up to the scenic Overlook, offering views of the resort and surrounding hills of Northwest Georgia. This hike is brisk but moderately challenging with a short, but steep incline to reach the Overlook.
February 1 | Barnsley Farm
Feeding at The Farm
9 a.m.
Feed our menagerie of farm animals during this family friendly activity. Goats and miniature horses enjoy meeting resort guests during this event.
February 1 | Beretta Shooting Grounds
Pheasant Tower Shoot
9 a.m.
Continental Pheasant Tower Shoots at the Beretta Shooting Grounds simulate an English-style driven pheasant hunt. There are 250 birds released from a hilltop as hunters test their luck at shooting the high-flying pheasants. Hunters will rotate between shooting stands as professional guides use cocker spaniels and labrador retrievers pick up downed birds. There is a maximum of 20 hunters for each Tower Shoot, so advance registration is highly recommended.

Celebrate Valentine’s Weekend at Barnsley Resort with romantic moments designed to savor together. Indulge in the Valentine’s Day Menu at Jules, delight in the Xocolatl Chocolate and Amaro Tasting, enjoy Wine, Cheese & Love Stories and more—each experience crafted to make the weekend unforgettable.

Wine, Cheese & Love Stories

Open your senses and learn how to create the perfect match to suit your own flavor palate to find the perfect complement between cheese and wine. Talented and knowledgeable wine stewards guide participants through an interactive tour of wines while guests use their senses to pair selections from Georgia’s own Sweet Grass Dairy. Throughout the tour, guests learn about the dramatic love story of Godfrey and Julia Barnsley.
This interactive walking tour experience meets at the Inn Lobby before progressing to the Manor House Ruins & Museum.

Sample and savor a tasting of featured selections from Atlanta’s bean-to-bar craft chocolate company, Xocolatl. Founders Elaine Read + Matt Weyandt share stories of how their adventures in Costa Rica inspired them to craft a newfound profession as small batch chocolatiers. Chocolates will be accompanied by a tasting of Italian amaros paired by Jessica Hamlin, a mixologist and expert in Fine Wine & Craft Spirits with an extensive background in hospitality and the art of pairing food and wine.

Birds of Prey Demonstration

Reconnect with wildlife and learn about the birds of prey found in North Georgia. View multiple species of owls and a red-tailed hawk, all presented safely and informatively by the experts from Blue Ridge Raptors. Each participant receives a Sibley’s Guide to Raptors of Eastern North America.

Guided History Tour & Wine Tasting with Master Sommelier Michael McNeill

Step back in time for an interactive tour of the Manor House Ruins, museum and historic gardens at Barnsley Resort. Learn about the fascinating and sometimes tragic tales of Godfrey and Julia Barnsley’s love story along with interesting facts about their descendants and the unique legacy of their estate, originally known as Woodlands. A knowledgeable Barnsley history expert leads guests on this engaging tour of the resort’s historic district as guests enjoy wine tastings chosen by Georgia’s only Master Sommelier Michael McNeill.

Savor the delight in abundance of a culinary weekend centered around community, cuisine and camaraderie as acclaimed Chef Shaun Doty gathers friends for a special weekend at Barnsley Resort in honor of the James Beard Foundation. The highlight of the experience is a special dinner at Jules centered around the themes of community to enliven the spirit of JBF’s mission to create Good Food for Good®.

Jules Executive Chef Shaun Doty gathers a group of esteemed chefs and culinarians to create a very special Friends of James Beard dinner experience at Jules, the new signature restaurant at Barnsley Resort. Joining Chef Doty (James Beard Semifinalist for Best New Restaurant, The Federal) to create a dinner inspired by their signature classics will be:
