A Day in Adairsville

May 09, 2018

We call Adairsville, Georgia home. Known as a “Norman Rockwell” type of town, our surrounding area is full of rich American history. Spend a day outside of the resort and get to know a little about the city, the first town in Georgia to be included on the National Register of Historic Places. That’s right. The entire town. Your first stop should be the depot at Adairsville that dates back to 1891. Serving as the official welcome center, the depot offers daily tours and admission is free. It’s truly the epicenter of the town.

Start and end your day at 1902 Stock Exchange & Maggie's Tea Room Cafe. Grab a hot tea or coffee and peruse a selection of collectibles, antiques, books, and jewelry. The Cafe is also open for lunch. Stick around for the evening and catch dinner and a show at the upstairs theater that will take you back in time. Plan your day in Adairsville now

Cheers in the Beer Garden

April 02, 2018

You can expect nothing but southern charm when you visit us, and craft beer is a big part of the experience. With a rise in craft breweries across the nation, we are proud to invite guests to take a break in our Beer Garden. Think of a casual, al fresco space offering more than 30 craft beer selections, complete with a fire pit. Yes, you might still need to warm up with a few flames even in the springtime when the sun goes down. Go for our Monday Night Barnsley Resort Englishman ESB, a creation brewed exclusively for our resort. It pairs perfectly with a casual menu and Southern-inspired snacks like pimento cheese and house made picks.

While there are a number of culinary options to explore while staying with us, you won’t want to miss the charming comfort of the Beer Garden on weekends. It’s the perfect place to cheers with a pint after an active day. Looking for something inside? Head to Rice House, our 19th century farmhouse, offering a selection of fresh local ingredients for dinner on the weekends. Plan your memorable meals and cheers now.

A weekend spent with us is a weekend spent in history. Once you’ve explored the estate and grounds on horseback, played a round of disc golf, or spent an indulgent day at the spa, we encourage you to take some time and discover The Manor House Ruins. The Woodlands, as we call them, are the remaining elements of the original Italianate villa from the 19th century. Yes, an Italianate villa in Georgia! Take a step back in time and tour the home built by Godfrey and Julia Barnsley, which brings to life a colorful look at the family’s heritage. The museum is also home to a number of exclusive Civil War era artifacts.

Who says a weekend getaway or vacation can’t be educational? The Ruins and Museum are open daily from 9am to 5pm and self-guided tours are complimentary for our guests. Want to bring a few friends along? No problem. We offer local rates of $10 for adults and $8 for seniors. We’ll be waiting for you at the Woodlands!
