Jules Opening Celebration: Such Pleasures, Indeed

On a Thursday night in October, Jules Executive Chef Shaun Doty and Barnsley Resort President David Friederich hosted a special celebration to mark the official grand opening of the resort’s newest dining experience, Jules. Invited guests included content creators; Atlanta media; local and state destination and tourism partners; city, county and state officials; representatives of various boards representing the business community; members of the resort ownership group; and more. 

After guests were welcomed into the 19th century farmhouse, transformed by the talented David Thompson Studio, with a signature Hey Jules cocktail featuring Weber Ranch agave vodka, Chef Doty and David Friederich gave remarks and a celebratory toast to mark the occasion. Afterwards, guests were invited to the dining room to a special taste of the Jules menu prepared by Chef Doty and his fellow culinarians. From the fresh, vibrant flavors of the carte de musica to the charcoal-grilled market oysters (roasted in the Josper oven) served with garlicky turnip green butter and lardo to entrees and a special dessert presentation, the reviews came in with raves.  

Throughout, the convivial din included celebratory toasts and even a few birthday wishes before guests staying overnight in the recently renovated cottages were invited to enjoy one last sweet treat by one of the resort’s 13 firepits that sits just outside Jules’ front door.
