Giving Back Through Community Impact

Committed to being a valuable member of the community where our team members live and work, the Community Impact at Barnsley Resort is one of the ways we serve with love. Throughout the year, the resort’s team members participate in hands-on activities, fundraisers or donation drives to benefit charitable organizations that are meaningful to the resort. In the spring, team members don reflective vests and other safety gear as they gather with invited neighbors and members to clean up our namesake Barnsley Gardens Road. Each summer, a back-to-school drive is held to collect supplies and backpacks to donate to the Boys & Girls Clubs Bartow County, Adairsville station. At the holidays, the culinary team led by Executive Chef Marc Suennemann prepares freshly baked cookies which are packaged by volunteer leaders to give to Hope for Children. To ensure as many local children as possible have the opportunity for a brighter holiday, a Toys for Tots drive inspires the collection of stuffed animals, games and toys appropriate for ages from infant to pre-teen. Recognized as one of the most pet friendly resorts, a portion of the pet fee paid by guests is donated to the Etowah Valley Humane Society.

As the signature beneficiary, the team is also committed to raising funds to Give Kids the World Village, an 89-acre, nonprofit “storybook” resort in Central Florida where, children with critical illnesses and their families are treated to weeklong, cost-free vacations. The annual holiday train that circulates the village during the festive season is complimentary for guests, with donations to Give Kids the World requested. Recently, the resort made the decision to donate a percentage of the room rate for the one-bedroom Executive Suite in the Inn to this organization.
